ESL Programs

Description

The ESL Program is a popular Summer Homestay Program offered by IFF. This program is ideal for those students who are seeking some amount of formal English-language instruction along with the immersion experience of being with an American host family and having some organized group activities. This program is typically 2 to 4 weeks in duration and affords each student the maximum opportunity to enhance their English skills.

Our typical ESL Program offers students 12 hours of intense classroom instruction in English-language and American Culture each week. Our classes are taught by experienced ESL instructors and use a specialized ESL curriculum designed for exchange students with a basic or intermediate level of English proficiency. With a small 15:1 student-to-instructor ratio, our students receive ample attention in order to maximize the productivity of their time in the classroom.

In addition to classes, these programs offer weekly activities and excursions as well as ample time for students spend with their host families. In order to give students time to relax, bond with their host families, go shopping or take care of other personal needs, weekends as well as two afternoons per week are generally kept free.

ESL programs are offered for groups of students from a single country or for “multicultural” groups of students from different countries.
